Emerged Productions presents:

Our third event titled “Meditations on Technology and Nostalgia”.

The theme is focused upon the idea that technology and nostalgia govern communication and social practices through recurring modes as a means to retain the past and gain perspective through a modern lens. The discourse between art, technology and nostalgia is interrelated and can be represented from multiple perspectives.

Emerged productions is a collective in which our ambition is to transform spaces in to an environment where creativity and imagination can flourish.

M R K

http://mr-k.bandcamp.com/
M R K is the alt. pop lovechild of singer/songwriter Madison René Knapp, former frontwoman of LA’s provocative rock band Aerial Stereo. With vocals ranging from sweet ethereal heights to guttural growls, her influences include Kate Bush, Karen O, Patti Smith and David Bowie. This one-woman show is saturated with a uniquely insatiable verve as she performs to the tracks of her upcoming EP and indulges the audience with off-the-cuff guitar/vocal improvisations. The mad, mad M R K wants to wrap us all up in the strange beauty of her musical world, so come in and get weird.

Subyeti has been trying to speak with you for a generation.
Hailing from far-off space-dust where time has a meaning unfathomed on this planet, the artist has managed to form lines of communication by way of melodic low-frequencies. Bass happens to be a language that spans the cosmos.
Subyeti found solace in what were once the bastard styles of music, genres that in the past got only minimal props from the older and more established expressions that helped to birth them. Being one whose always had trouble communicating with Earthlings, it’s no wonder that hip-hop, drum and bass, glitch and dubstep are the languages Subyeti is most fluent in.
Formerly a constituent of the Earth music group Lovebones and BTIMU, the creative energy of Jackson Myres is now known as Subyeti. He’s got something he’d like to tell you.
